MATERIALSMAMMOTH IVORY:From the tusk of the extict Woolley Mammoth,this material has been buried in the frozen tundras of Alaska and Siberia for about 20,000 to 40,000 years,but for about two months out of the year the ground thaws and thats how the trace minerals enter the ground and produce all the wonderful colors and patterns,this is also the time of year when this material is harvested.This is a very hard material that produces a beautiful polish.For the guitar player a Mammoth Ivory pick gives a wonderful tone and because it is pourous it will not slip out of your hand like plastic. For the builder and player as well a Mammoth Ivory nut and saddle will produce superior tone and sustain over plastic. ELK ANTLER:A very hard material from the yearly sheddings of the Elk. Picks and slides will have great tone and sustain. BONE:Traditionaly used by top guitar manufacturers back in the '50s and '60s for nuts and saddles ,sadly today most are plastic or gaphite.This comes from cow bone. IRONWOOD :The hardest and most dense wood in the world. Contains about 60% naturals oils.Our premier wood for slides,steel guitar tone bars and picks. COCOBOLO:One of our most popular woods for slides and picks.Very hard with nice grain patterns. OSAGE:Used by the American Indians to make bows and arrows, also used to make ski's and tool handles.Nice colors and grain patternS. METEORITE:From various strike locations and made up of mostly Iron and Nickel.Makes a great solid pick with a bright tone. |
